ETH Bucharest 2025 – A Pleasant Surprise 🇷🇴

Just got back from ETH Bucharest and honestly — such a pleasant surprise. The event was perfectly organized, with a well-balanced agenda that combined local and international voices in a way that felt fresh and grounded.
✨ Side events? 10/10. From a morning run to a screening of Vitalik: An Ethereum Story — the energy was unmatched.
📍And not to mention the venue — the National Library of Romania! Hands down one of the most iconic and unusual event locations I’ve ever been to. Made the whole experience even more memorable.
Here’s some alpha from my favorite sessions on fundraising and public goods funding:
🚀 VC Panel Recap
“Let’s get ugly quickly and make mistakes early.”
Some 🔥 takeaways from Daniel Luca, Lior Messika (Eden Block), Victor Florea, Mihai Grigore (Tech Metrics), and Ethan Pierse (Borderless Ventures):
AI x Blockchain: AI is no longer just a tool—it is the product. Blockchain’s role in coordinating data and resources is only getting more important.
Next-gen founders: You don’t have to be technical. What matters is obsession, the right team, and relentless iteration.
GameFi Reality Check: Big potential, but still early. Dev cycles are long and gamers aren’t easy to convert.
Investor POV: Less hype, more substance. Tokenomics ≠ a good product.
🧙♂️ “Degens & Dragons” by Nico Gallardo from Octant
A magical talk that combined storytelling, sustainability, and public goods funding in a way that really hit home. This is exactly the kind of inspiration behind what we’re building with web3grants.co — a public good for the ecosystem ⚔️
🪙 Impactful Auctions: Crypto's Public Goods Opportunity
Loring Harkness from Paddle Battle explored how auctions can reshape funding models for public goods. “We laughed. We cried. We auctioned off cool shit and donated the money to public goods.”

Already looking forward to the next one. Big kudos to the ETHBucharest team for putting together something truly special 💛
